Memorial

Located in Bhujiya Dungar, the Smritivan Earthquake Memorial spans over 170 acres and features a compound wall. It includes the world's largest Miyawaki Forest with over 4.5 lakh trees, serving as a living monument and the city of Bhuj's green lungs. There's a locally installed 1.04 Megawatt solar power plant that powers the museum and memorial, with the objective of providing self-sustainable, renewable green energy that sets an example for all future establishments. The 50 check-dam reservoirs within the memorial bear the name plates of 12,932 earthquake victims, aiding in recharging surrounding water levels and promoting regeneration and hope for a better future.
